What happens when a couple tells you that they don’t like rustic and you take them to the most rustic place you can think of–Downtown Gruene, TX? They trust you, and you make magic! For this small town Texas engagement session, we turned a little rustic downtown into an elegant, romantic, vintage vibe all using strategic lighting and location choices. Andrea and Joshua specifically told us that they do not like a rustic vibe, but because
they trust us so much as their photographer and videographer, they didn’t hesitate when we suggested Downtown Gruene. We were able to find nooks and architecture and lighting to make their engagement session better than they ever envisioned. It’s one of our all-time favorites now!

Dreamy Southern Elegance

I’m SO glad Andrea and Joshua trusted us with the location of their engagement shoot. As you can see, the portraits turned out tasteful and polished–no rustic vibes in sight! We took full advantage of the gorgeous Victorian style Inn. In the end, the session was a dreamy depiction of southern elegance. You can just imagine these two brushing by
each other in a busy downtown meet-cute romcom scene, right?
Texas has a fall, ya’ll! Notice how we took this from summer to fall with a little outfit and location change. Neat trick, huh?! Engagement photos are some of your first family photos together. Bet you didn’t think of them this way! We want you to have a variety of images that really capture this season of planning, anticipation, and togetherness before your wedding
day. This session captured all those warm and fuzzy fall vibes! Most people just think Texas is hot and dry 365 days a year, but we really do get some fall weather. Here’s your proof!

The Gruene Mansion Inn

Most of our session took place at the Gruene Mansion Inn. The bed and breakfast is a marvelous Victorian style inn with intricate details every which way. The Inn not only has jaw dropping architecture, but the massive trees provided just the right amount of shade and foliage to capture the essence of autumn as they had begun changing colors.

Andrea & Joshua

This couple had never had professional photos done before, so they were a little nervous. Despite the chilly evening, the two warmed up to the session and said how much fun they were having by the end! Both are shy and quiet, but their sweet and loving personalities shined through! The running joke during the session was that Joshua blinks in every photo they have
taken together. But, I think we did a pretty good job capturing the two at their best. Neither were mid-blink and always radiating love. I am so happy they trusted me with the location! We had so much fun exploring the area
together. In the end, we created a collection of images that are truly timeless. I just can’t wait to be part of their wedding celebration too!
