Lauren + Sam

From a crowded sports bar to forever, Lauren + Sam met the old-fashioned way: in person, at a bar! They ended up around the same table watching the Final Four, then spent the rest of the night bar hopping with mutual friends. The rest was history. Their first date? Drinks on the east side, of course!

Fast forward to Cabo, where Sam proposed on the beach right at their hotel. He had even found a local photographer to capture the moment, and one of their friends happened to be there to watch it all happen. In Lauren’s words, it was “the best day ever!”

Ask Lauren what she loves most about Sam and she’ll tell you it’s the way he makes her feel like herself. These two love sharing in each other’s interests and experiencing life side by side. When it comes to married life, they’re looking forward to “more of the same!” They’re excited to start a family, too.

For their session, Lauren + Sam wanted a cozy vibe: warm lighting, bar seating, a cocktail in hand, and a little bit of Austin. Sammie’s Italian was the perfect place to start! We began at the classic bar and those iconic red and white checkered walls, then moved out to Sammie’s bright red patio for a cocktail toast. Their neutral outfits let the red take center stage, and our favorite little detail was Lauren’s red nails tying the whole color story together.

Then Austin weather had other plans! It started to POUR on South Congress, so we ducked under cover at Jo’s Coffee. None of those shots were planned, but they turned out to be some of our favorites. From the glowing neon coffee cup to the “i love you so much” wall and the Austin Motel sign, that pop of red followed us everywhere we went.
