If you’re planning a wedding in 2025, you’ve likely heard some buzz about the newest kind of wedding vendor – wedding content creators. This new addition to the wedding media team is a fun way to capture candid moments with fast delivery. If you’re interested in finding out more about this vendor type and how they perform alongside the rest of your wedding media team, keep reading for all the details!
Every vendor plays a special role in your wedding media team, and a content creator is no different. These vendors film candid wedding moments on an iPhone, allowing quick delivery times and fun, easy-to-share deliverables. They work alongside your photography and videography team to capture short-form content, such as Reels or TikToks, and provide candid, unedited clips of your day.
While we love working with content creators, they are not a replacement for traditional videography. The equipment and skillset of a formal photographer or videographer are very different from those of a content creator. While photographers and videographers create work with longevity in mind, content creators are focused on speed and sharability. Lighting, composition, color theory, and audio engineering all come into play for a professional photographer or videographer. In contrast, content creators are intended for quick documentation and instant accessibility.
Wedding content creators started appearing in the industry in 2023, and more and more pop up every day. When researching content creators for your big day, it’s important to make sure you hire an experienced professional. Your content creator should be familiar with the flow of a wedding day and the unpredictability of live events. It’s also important to make sure they’re comfortable working alongside photographers and videographers in a way that doesn’t impede their work.
Content creation can be such a fun addition to your wedding day plans. The turnaround time is incredibly quick, and the flexibility of how you can use your content is endless. Content creation gives you more of a behind-the-scenes look at your wedding day. While less polished than professional photography or videography, that’s precisely the appeal. It can’t replace a professional videographer, and it was never meant to (ask any creator), but it can be a truly delightful experience to add to your wedding day.
While some photo and video teams are pushing back on content creation, we want to embrace it. Because we understand exactly why guests pull out their phones during weddings: they want so badly to take a video of you walking down the aisle to post on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. They’re excited, and they want to share what’s happening in real time. And now, we can do that for them, alleviating that itch to pull out their phone during intimate moments.
Here at Carhart, we offer in-house content creation services, providing you with a wedding day team that knows how to work comfortably together. There are no worries about stepping on each other’s toes or ending up in the background of each other’s shots. Our content team has years of experience in weddings as photographers and videographers, so they understand how to operate smoothly alongside the rest of your vendors. Content creation is currently available as an add-on to any of our wedding packages. It includes 8+ hours of coverage, all of the unedited clips from your day, three Reels or TikTok, and a 60-second recap video. If you’re looking for a fun new addition to your wedding day media team, let’s chat!
